No Passing on Grand Avenue, Day
August 16th, 200736 cylinders form “No Passing” highway center lines. When lit from an angle, the grid of intersections illuminates as the viewer passes by.
Meaningful to me as I drove thousands of miles back and forth to ASU in Tempe, AZ from a small town 75 miles north. Grand Avenue consisted of a long stretch of two-lane, mostly no passing, highway. Semi trucks, tanker trucks, or cautious Sun City snow-birds shared this old highway with me both morning and late at night between Phoenix and Wickenburg.
